Who doesn't love baby booties? Even if you don't have a baby the excessively small, precious miniatures make even the hardest hard soften just a bit. So I have listed some new booties in my shop:
They are sized to fit a 3-6 month old and have the most darling little roses and leaves adorning the tops.
And here are some baby items from my fellow Etsyknitters Team members...
From BabbidgePatch, a pink earflap hat with a cute little flower:
From Bubblegirlknits, a super cute strawberry hat with tassels:
NaturalStar has this very adorable Vintage Inspired Organic Merino Sweater:

Super Crazy Soft Purple and Black Scarf
A friend of mine approached me about making a custom scarf as a Christmas gift for one of her friends. She said "something purple-y and black" and here was the result:
It is SO soft and luxurious I almost don't want to give it to her, I just want to keep it for myself and use it as a pillow all day every day.
I've been working on some new things for my shop as well, so keep your eyes open for new arrivals :)

New iPod Cozy!
Who's got an ipod? Or a zune? Or a massive cell phone? Or some other kind of high-tech device that you want fashionably protected? I've got just the thing!
I have knit up a small pouch in which to hold said gadget and not to boast, but it is awesome! In dusty pink and deep black yarn, this cozy is perfect the edgy punk lady in your life or your girly girl. And who doesn't love argyle prints?

Remember those pink and brown armwarmers?
That I made for a custom order a little while back? Well they went to my cousin back east and here is a picture of her wearing them while playing her DS! I guess she really likes them :D

Pink and Black Knucks
I recently completed this pair of knucks for a custom order. A friend's sister wanted a pair in a soft pink and black mixture and this is what I made.
Knucks are basically gloves whose fingers stop at the first KNUCKle. A mitten flap is attached to the back of the hand so that it can be closed over top the finger tips to keep warm, or pulled back to allow the wearer to use their fingers to type, or find change, or flip someone off more effectively, its all up to the user ;)
I am currently finishing up a pair of these in a much larger size that are lined on the insides to provide even more warmth for a male friend with hands twice the size of mine, I'll post pictures when they are complete. Can you tell these are being knit in a green color? Hehe

Ban the Bags!
I don't know if you have seen this link or not, but I suggest you do. For the very sake of our nation, our world, and your kids and grandkids, this a very important topic and we need to bring it to the attention of the government and the general public.
So what should we do about it? Well thats easy! Just Say "NO!" to plastic bags at the supermarket, and at the mall, and everywhere else they give you random plastic bags!
Instead, be fashionable, functional, and eco-friendly with any of these, and more! There are tons of shops out there that provide an alternative to the plastic. These are simply a few I think are awesome.
Keep it simple and chic with this set from InitialThisBags:

And please please spread the word so we can help stop all these atrocities that are happening to our planet and our wildlife.
Thank you!

Hot Pink and Chocolate Brown Fingerless Mitts
My latest order (after the masses of slippers) was a simple pair of fingerless for my little cousin via my Grandma. She's nine years old and has an entire outfit ready for these mitts. She wanted them in hot pink and chocolate brown stripes with a button clasp like the others found in my store.
They were a fairly quick knit, a good in-between project. They look tiny in these photos, but they stretch very well and fit around my adult hands (granted, I do have small hands, but still bigger than a nine year old's).
The mask in the photo is a vintage Barong mask from Indonesia. I purchased it from the very cool GudusSurpriseShop on Etsy.

Slippers!
So I got all the information on sizes and colors and set to work making the slippers. After all the pairs had been knit up, I felted them to shrink them down to size and keep them warmer and sturdier. Also, to keep the wearer from falling on her face, I applied “sticky stuff” to the bottom of each slipper.
Here is what all the slippers looked like when complete!
*this is also the reason there hasn’t been too much new stuff in my shop lately*

November Charity - Close to Home (For Me At Least)
So I was agonizing over which charity to sponsor this month, there are so many out there and there are so many that I just wish I could give all my money to. I was contemplating which charity to support and I came across a pit bull at my local shelter that needs some sponsoring so that he can get neutered and hopefully transferred to a no-kill shelter, as it is particularly hard to place pit bulls in this area. So I have decided that 10% of all my profits this month will go to helping Brodie!
How could you say no to this face?!

Halloween and such!
Oh my poor blog, I have been neglecting it! But alas! I am back! And with pictures and stories of the time I have spent away!
Well, obviously, this weekend was Halloween. So, in keeping with tradition, I dressed up. Granted, I had no idea what I wanted to dress up as, and unlike my brother I had not been planning my outfit for the past three months (he was a hobbit by the way). But, I did come up with a very convincing, authentic character in about an hour's time. My beau was a cowboy. And he didn't even need to buy anything special, which surprised me beyond all reason. I had no idea he had acquired Ostrich Skin Cockroach Stompers (aka cowboy boots of one of the most expensive varieties), or the super tight, ass-flattening cowboy Wranglers, or even the very authentic western pearl snap shirt complete with mustangs embroidered in complimenting colors. And of course, the hat.
He did not want to be the only one of us going to my brother's party dressed up so shooed his mother and I away to search through her closet for acceptable costume materials. We found an old old OLD shirt that had been made in Mexico 50 or 60 years ago that had been her mother's, and turquoise necklace and a plethora of other necklaces in varying materials and lengths to layer. Also, a scarf in colors complimenting the blouse to wear on my head and my boyfriend had the perfect "I Am The Walrus" glasses to top off the outfit! I must say, I wish I could dress like that every day. But, sadly, I can't, and I will still try to get away with what I can, it helps that his very wonderful mom said that I could keep the blouse :) She really is a wonderful lady!
So I suppose this is a lot to read through, and I will keep the excitement of the ski swap for another post, hopefully tomorrows......
I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween!
