Teapot Plant
I just saw this on the front page of Etsy and think it is so cute! I love the choice of plants and the fact that it is overflowing with life! I know most of my life is sustained by tea, so its very appropriate ;) And the photography is, of course, gorgeous as well :) Check out the rest of VerdeGarden for more super chic planters.

Surprise!
So I told you on Saturday that I had a surprise for you all and I know I said it would be Monday but I wanted to get good pictures and well...evidently it is impossible to get decent pictures of this particular surprise so...here are the bad pictures!
Before:
After:
What do you think? I really needed a change, as Matt put it, I needed to hit the "reset" button because I have been so stressed out lately from classes. It is so much easier to take of short and its one less thing to worry about :)

Custom Scarves
Yesterday I finished up two custom scarves by finally attaching the fringe and labels :) For some strange reason it always takes me a little longer than it should to finish up with the fringe on things and I'm not quite sure why? Regardless, I love both of these scarves and am excited to see them off to their new homes!
The first is a simple lace scarf in a hand-dyed merino. It is very soft, very cozy and very long:
Second is this gorgeous leaf lace scarf out of a wonderful alpaca and silk blend called Miracle. so soft and wonderful to work with! I used up two skeins completely, nothing left :)

Little Red
Who thought Tape Dispensers could be so darn cute? I definitely want this on my desk, I will be taping everything! Although I'm not sure the cat would like to have tape on her ears just because I can't leave the adorable dispenser alone...

Second Package!
My spoiler is on top of things! I received my second package yesterday and it was chock-full of all kinds of amazing goodies!
I got an amazing dark chocolate bar that is simply divine and a more quirky candy necklace making kit (the only reason the candy even made it to the photo was because I forced myself to wait until I got home to open the package when I had my camera in my hands to keep them from snarfing down the goodies)
I also got a darling little sheep figurine I have named Beverly who now resides by my window with my plants and internet life-source.
The most amazing part of the package were too HUGE skeins of wool from a farm near my spoiler. She says that "they raise some beautiful sheep and have the wool spun into a rustic yarn (all locally)". I am not quite sure what I will make with these yet, they are a wee bit too scratchy for next-to-skin wear, but perhaps an outer wear style jacket? Or maybe a felted bag? Or a lap blanket? Oh so many options!
Thank you so so SO incredibly much spoiler, the package came on a hectic day after a stressful week (they're all getting to be hectic and stressful now aren't they?) and I absolutely love everything about it!

I want to be Cozy
It has been getting chilly down here lately and I like to be cozy. Chilly weather is prime cozy-ing time! Cuddling up with my laptop, knitting, a blanket, the pup and the boyfriend sounds like a perfect way to spend this Saturday. Alas, it won't happen like that because with classes and homework and all kinds of other things going on, sitting still is impossible. But its nice to dream isn't it?
Here are some super cozy finds I came across this morning trying to flesh out my dreams :)
Chocolate boyfriend sweater from miscusi
Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate from tetoncocoacompany
And Slubba-Bubba Yarn from Fabulosity
*and on a side note, I have a surprise for you! I'll probably show you on Monday, so be sure to check back then! ;)

Party Dress
I've featured this seller before here, and she just added some super cute new dresses to her shop!
Wouldn't this be perfect for that Halloween party you have coming up?
onthetrashyside will make it just for you, in your size, and you won't have to worry about somebody else wearing the same thing! Unless, of course, you are both excruciatingly stylish Etsy fiends....we better not be going to the same party ;)

Mail Call!
The only good thing about Mondays is that the mail that has been traveling and arriving all weekend is finally sorted out and given to the appropriate recipients. That means me. I got some fantastic mail yesterday! All from Etsy too :) Wanna see?
Miss Lisa is in desperate need of a name tag so I ordered a custom one from AoDesigns:
Isn't it just so classy and sweet? Lisa feels so pretty now :)
I also ordered this adorable ring from jojojewels7 who is a very kind and understanding seller, I definitely recommend visiting their shop!And.....I got new shoes! I bought them from the cute shop TheCherryChic. They are vintage black suede with a cute little heel and fit AMAZINGLY. They also came in their original box! I have no idea when these could be from, if you have a clue, please let me know, I am very curious :)
Even the kitty enjoyed the shoes hehe, making the box into her own personal bedspace

Worn Out
That's how I am right now. Busy busy Monday. It was stressful and crazy before even 10am. Then it was good 'cuz the mailman was extra nice today (you can see tomorrow hehe ;)) then it was crazy and stressful and long again because of classes and homeworks. Now I have to try to be productive to be successful tonight for the rest of the week but I just need a little bit of a break first.
Maybe a cup of tea...
A delicious muffin....
And a few minutes catching up on my favorite blogs :)

Ahh
'Someone's sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.' - Warren Buffet
I love trees. Especially the big leafy ones, the leaves bring fresh green, sometimes flowers in the spring, provide lush joy through the summer and paint the ground with awesome colors in the fall. Even in the winter the trees can look so magnificent and gorgeous. I want to enjoy trees for decades to come, and I want the next generations to enjoy them as well. So please go plant a tree :) any kind of tree!

Dropped the Ball
I know I sorta dropped the ball blogging this week, it was a busy one!
I am so glad its Friday and I bet you are too, to end a stressful week on a good note, here are some adorable puppy pictures of little miss Lisa :)She is getting so big! Definitely at that lets-chew-up-everything-and-see-exactly-how-much-mommy-loves-me stage. I don't even want to begin to list off all the things she has demolished but lets just say that yesterday I came home to a completely spiderwebbed apartment. She had gotten into my yarn somehow (its in a closet in a room that we keep shut for this very reason). But I can't help but love a face like this!

Everything's Better Miniaturized!
Especially muffins :)
I made some lemon poppyseed mini muffins a few days ago and needless to say, there were maybe, 3 left the next morning. I will definitely be making more of these, and I'm sure you'd like to know how too ;) So here is the recipe I used, its very simple, very quick, and super duper delicious!
1 box lemon cake mix (see? I told you it was easy!)
1 C boiling water
1/2 C oil
1 small box instant vanilla pudding
4 eggs
1/3 c. poppy seeds
I only preheated my oven to about 350-ish since I was making other food and this was the temp required for that...Then I mixed all the ingredients together, poured them into their little tiny muffin papers in their little tiny muffin pan until the papers were about half full, stuck them in the oven for 10ish minutes and let them sit after I pulled them out of the oven.
They practically melted in your mouth! SO delish! Now stop licking your computer screen and get your butt in the kitchen to make yourself some!

Balloon Fiesta!
So I realize I never put those pictures up I promised! I apologize, here they are :)
This is one of the first balloons, launching at dawn with the flag while our national anthem was sung in the background:
I like this photo because it shows all the stages of balloons at once! The flat ones getting ready to fill up, the ones filling up but still on the ground and in the back you can see some floating away:
They had some that were fun shapes, like this monster:
And this cow, she had a hard time taking off:
but she got it eventually!
If you ever get a chance to go the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta I highly suggest you do so, it really is a great experience for people of all ages! There are literally hundreds of balloons, I think this year it was somewhere around the range of 600! The fiesta goes on for three weekends and they have all kinds of delicious fried foods and tons of amazing vendors (I'm going to see how many hundreds or thousands of dollars it costs to get one hehe). We like to get there early to watch the dawn patrol go up, then the mass ascension with all the balloons! It is so cool to see :)

Recent Additions and Coming Soons!
I have been working on a lot of custom orders lately but have had some time to squeeze in new items for the shop.

If the slouchy hats aren't your style, I do have this Scrappy Beanie, knit in the same sort of style coming soon:And I have been working on another pattern, another collaboration with KatsaraYarns, so the pattern for these wrist warmers should be up later today or tomorrow, so stay tuned! This funky green and purple slouchy beret will be added soon as well ;)

Little Golden Books
id you read them as a munchkin? I did, and I remember enjoying all the colorful pictures inside each one :) If ever I have munchkins of my own I hope they get to enjoy them as well.
This Alice in Wonderland copy, from echoart, takes a small portion of the entire story and focuses on the land of live flowers. I wish I lived in a land where flowers could talk...

You know I studied too much when...
the first thing I think when I see this picture is "What is the tension factor in the first rope given that the rabbit has a mass of X and the chick has a mass of Y with a kinetic friction coefficient of A and the little girl is pulling at a constant velocity of W..."Yea. I had a physics test today. Couldn't you tell?
But seriously, the prints in naokosstoop are seriously cute and I think they would be perfect in just about anyone's home, no matter your age :)

Small Tree
Can anyone tell me what this is?
If your answer was small avocado tree you were right! A while back Matt had gone to California and brought home fresh from the tree avocados, many of them started sprouting before we even got to eat the avocados but this little guy we saved and put in some water and he has clearly taken off. Wow that was a long run-on sentence. But anyways, this little tree is now about 1o inches tall and a friend thinks his roots look like some kind of space squid hehe, I think that means its time to put him in the dirt and see what happens, what do you think?
In other news, my beloved camera has bitten the dust and I am now simply waiting for another one to show up in the mail sometime soon. Hopefully this week?

Ravelry Swap Package!
My package arrived at the end of a very long and trying week.
On Wednesday Bowser lost her long battle with Parvo. Matt and I have been devastated. We are so happy that Lisa has not gotten sick, if she stays healthy for another week the vet said it was unlikely that she will get parvo. I can't talk about it too much, so I will end this note here.
The moment I opened the package I smelled the most beautiful scent of autumn. Sadly, the candle jar had been broken in transit, but the candle will still be burnable on a plate or something :) I also received some gorgeous fall note cards and a large bag of candy. The best part about the entire package though, was the roving! A 50/50 cormo/kid mohair blend in a color called Squash from a solar powered farm and mill! How cool is that? I can't wait to start spinning this stuff up :D Thank you so much swap partner, you did a phenomenal job! (Better pictures to come, I promise)
Tomorrow Matt and I are heading up to Albuquerque to meet my parents for the Balloon Fiesta, I will take loads of pictures and show you all next week :) Have a great weekend!
