The other day I had a chance to witness a site not many get to see: the Great MopedBird. This elusive being perched himself on Daisy's mirror and I had the chance to stalk up to him.
A little closer...
A little closer...
And then woosh! He was off (you can see him in the upper left-hand side of the picture)
I'm so glad I got to witness this rare event at least once in my life, and I hope you get the chance too ;)

Scooter Cruise
Some friends of ours recently picked themselves up a scooter and, of course, now Daisy and Hastings have become the best of friends!
Last week we took them on a cruise around the area, here are some of the memories from our trip:

Picnic with Delilah
Remember back in this post when Matt and I first started hanging out and we took Delilah for a picnic? And I secretly (or maybe not so secretly…) thought that he was the coolest person on the planet for wanting to take my hamster on a picnic? Well, for my birthday, we did it again!
We packed up our munchies, some beverage, the cam-a-ra (I can’t be the only one who says it like this, am I?) and headed to a nearby park on our valiant steed (Daisy).
We took her down the twisty slide a few times, down the short straight slide and just let her run around to her heart’s content :) It was a super fun trip for all involved.
*Oh and on a separate note, tomorrow I will be announcing some BIG news! So stay tuned ;)

Ice Cream
I've had a sweet tooth craving for a coupla days now and despite my most valiant efforts could not satiate it. I decided it was time to bring out the big guns. Thats right. The Ben & Jerry's Guns. I rode Daisy (our moped) to the store and found the most delicious and full looking pint of Coffee Heath Crunch I could find, and proceeded to blaze home at super sonic speeds to consume my trophy.
It was only after the devastation dust had settled that I realized I spilled some on my shirt. I asked Matt if the fact that I had spilled ice cream in my excitement made me a fat kid. His response? "Well it sure doesn't make you a skinny kid"
Who else likes to engage their sweet tooth every once in a while with a nice heaping bowl? Perhaps some whipped cream? Salted Peanuts? A cherry?
Here are some amazing ice cream finds I found browsing Etsy to help you along with your quest to procure the end-all be-all of ice cream tooth cravings:

Adventures in Small Town
The other day after having been productive around the house for most of the day, I approached Matt with the idea to go on a moped adventure around little Socorro.

Meet Daisy!
So a week ago I sold my car. Yup. Carless. But guess what? Not stuck and dependent on others for rides anymore! While in Denver for the 4th we scoured the Craigslist ads and found this beauty:
Her name is Daisy, she's a 2003 Honda Metropolitan and she is A-mazing. So much fun to drive as well as ride while Matt is driving. Just enough room for two people and somehow we manage to squeeze all of our school stuffs on with us too (don't ask me how, I'm positive it defies physics). I love her bright yellow coloring, its my favorite :)

Before we decided she was the one, I took her out for a spin all by my lonesome while Matt waited at the truck and when I came back he said it "fit" me and, naturally, I asked how. He said "Its classic, curvy and small" 0.0 That's a good thing right? Cuz, I think she kinda looks like a snail, the seat as the shell and the mirrors as the antennae (eyes) she is just snail-looking. But he assured me is was a good thing and we haven't looked back.

Its a great feeling to go flying down the streets at 35 mph with my hair tied back and my earrings flapping in the breeze knowing that I am getting about 100 mpg. The only thing that could make her better? A cupholder so I can take my tea to class and work with me...I'm sure they make attachments for that right?

Oh, and her seat isn't actually blue, thats a pillow case to keep the seat cool, its black and the sun is a-shinin' today making it a little too warm for my tush after sitting out for a while.
