Ravelry Swap Question 1

So for part of the swap that I am doing on Ravelry we are asked biweekly questions and here is the first question:

“If you won the lottery, what would you do with the money?”

I would probably buy a house first, good investment and all that ;) After that I would travel the world, visit all the places I haven't yet been (which is a lot). Then I would fill my backyard with all kinds of fiber-producing animals, sheep, llamas, dogs, goats, rabbits, etc and have a big area just for the garden part. I would build myself a studio where I could process the yarns myself, and dye them and spin them and knit in peace :)

Any left over money would go to an Elephant Sanctuary!

So you all know that as part of my Ravelry Swap we get to answer bi-weekly questions, so this week's question is:

What are your plans for Valentine’s Day this year?

Ah Valentine's Day, to be honest, I have no idea what I will be doing for Valentine's day. I told Dominic that I wanted him to plan it (it's always more romantic that way right?), so I've heard something mentioned about maybe going to Red River to go snowboarding, we have a milk carton that has a coupon on it for buy one get one free for the lift tickets up there, so I think we may do that...who knows, I can pretty much guarantee that if we do decide to go snowboarding you will see pictures haha :)

Warm Ewe Up Winter Swap - Biweekly Blog Question #3

So the third biweekly blog question for my Ravelry Swap Group is this:

What is your favorite way to keep warm when it’s snowing outside? (And if you live in a warm weather climate, what would you do to stay warm and cozy while it’s snowing?)

I rather enjoy plopping myself on the couch with my beau and the dog on our feet (literally, he has to sit directly underneath us to be comfortable, what a weird-o) each of us with a warm beverage, tea, hot chocolate made healthfully from scratch, coffee, and putting in an entertaining movie. I should also like to have knitting on hand for when I finish said beverage and need to keep my hands busy.

Granted, I do enjoy the snow, and snowboarding all day in it and coming home to the above would be most ideal :)

If you could only knit or crochet with one brand of yarn for the rest of the year, what would it be and why?

Only one brand? Oh gosh…..there are so many! Maybe just maybe Lamb’s Pride because there are SO MANY colors, its wool, I can felt it up, or just knit it into something, its kind of fuzzy but not overly so, its initially rough but gets softer with use, seems just about perfect for having to knit with only one brand forever. Granted, if you asked me that question tomorrow, my answer might be completely different. But as for today, this is my answer J

Why Did I Learn To Knit?

For part of my Ravelry Swap group there will be bi-weekly questions to let our Spoilers know more about us. This time the question is: Why did you learn to knit?

I learned to knit the basics from my momma. She had knit off and on while I was growing up and I'm not entirely sure what pushed me to first ask her, maybe she knows? Anyways, I was probably about 9 or 10 and she gave me some yellow cotton yarn and some wooden needles and that was that.

I continued learning because, for whatever reason, the technique clicked with me. And the opportunities to learn more and more about the craft, new textures, new shapes, new fibers, all of it was just so inspiring. From there I mostly taught myself, and to this day I teach myself new things and I make my own designs.

So my question to you is: Why haven't you learned to knit?
