Another Musical Monday inspired by theurchiness over on her blog :)

This week I'm sharing with you a song by a band that I am currently in love with and can't stop listening to: Young the Giant.  I saw this band in concert at Sunshine Theater in Albuquerque and now that their CD is out, I've had it on repeat for weeks!

Musical Monday #4

Thanks to theurchiness, I've come to thoroughly enjoy doing these Musical Monday posts :)

This week, I'm sharing a song by a band that I went and saw in concert last Tuesday at the Launchpad in Albuquerque, Margot & the Nuclear So and So's!

The concert was so much fun, I only got a few measly phone photos, but trust me, it was sweet.  Small venue, dedicated fans, we got to stand right up against the stage, get some tshirts and autographs, I can't wait till they come back!

Musical Monday #3

Another Musical Monday!  Initially inspired by theurchiness over on Brie by Night :)

This week I'm sharing Send Me On My Way by Rusted Root.  This song always makes me happy, it reminds me of flipping pancakes and 70s dishware, wouldn't that make you happy too?

Musical Monday

I saw theurchiness posted a Musical Monday post on her blog, Brie by Night and I really like the idea.  Music is a massive part of my days and I'd love to share what I'm listening to with you guys :)

Right now, I'm loving upbeat, lively songs like Animal by Neon Trees, but I'm sure you all know that song so I'll share Kandi by One Eskim0 today.

Chic Gamine

On occasion our university brings various bands, musicians, magicians, illusionists, plays and comedians to campus.  The students can pick up tickets for free (we pay a fee at the beginning of the semester, so "free" is loosely defined) and community members can purchase tickets for themselves and their families at locations around town.

This past Friday, the band gracing us was Chic Gamine.  I had to pester the boyfriend out of the house to go with me and some friends (he had dislocated his toe and wasn't really wanting to go anywhere) and we didn't really know what to expect, all we knew was that its a chick band (with 1 man) from Canada.

The moment we showed up I could hear the music (we were only a tad late) and I knew it was going to be awesome!

Matt seemed to thoroughly enjoy himself as well and I only wish I could've stayed around to afford a CD and have the band members sign it.  Not only was the music phenomenal, a mix of indie, vocal, soulful music, the band was funny and relaxed on stage.  To top it off, they all wore the cutest outfits!

Even their website is adorable, I mean come on!
I encourage all of you to check out their website and listen to some of their songs, you won't be disappointed, I promise!

Perfect Make-Out Music

So I have introduced to some awesome new music lately, or at least, new to me. And the first song I heard by Kings of Leon, along with the second, third, and entire CD, is total make out music! It's not your typical "Love Love Love Blah blah Blah" make out music, its like, in the movies when a couple is having an intense, deep, passionate make out session, this is the background music or something. Totally. Amazing. No Joke.

I played it for my friend Zita to see if maybe I'm crazy or something and she said "If you were a little less than straight I would totally be attacking you right now." So, I think that says it all. Go out there and listen to this music yourself, along with your significant other, and come back here and tell me all about it ;) If I like your story enough perhaps I'll five you some kind of discount for my shop...
